Title: JD Out of action Post by: JD on March 15, 2009, 07:34:16 PM Hi all,
Moving house this weekend and the internerd is not connected until we officially inhabit the premesis this Tues or Wed. Home phone number remains unchanged. Hence if you are trying to get hold of me via here and I don't answer I am not ignoring you (unless it's Harvs, in which case I probably am). We plan on a bit of a get together once we get settled, stay tuned! I even upped my performance to no avail. JD Title: Re: JD Out of action Post by: JD on March 26, 2009, 07:27:22 PM The better half got a text from Adam saying give them a call. Turns out they saw we were very slow, and wanted to give us some advice on speeding things up! THAT is customer service!
Anyway, just fitted a filter. Need to reboot to see what happens. JD Title: Re: JD Out of action Post by: rob b on March 29, 2009, 08:54:35 PM Just wondering if the new address is somewhere near Elizabeth. That might account for the s l o w n e s s ????

RB Title: Re: JD Out of action Post by: JD on April 01, 2009, 06:16:56 PM No boys, I am here, just sitting by reveling in you hilarious banter.
BTW, the reboot with the filter worked a treat. Back up to speed! What sort of speeds are you guys getting with Adam? I used the mirror here: http://www.ozspeedtest.com/ Broadband Speed Test Results Test run on 01/04/2009 @ 06:46 PM Mirror: Adam Internet Data: 70 KB Test Time: 0.53 secs Your line speed is 1.08 Mbps (1081 kbps). Your download speed is 135 KB/s (0.13 MB/s). Anyone? JD Title: Re: JD Out of action Post by: Craig on April 01, 2009, 08:20:15 PM Test run on 01/04/2009 @ 08:42 PM
Mirror: Adam Internet Data: 70 KB Test Time: 0.29 secs Your line speed is 1.99 Mbps (1993 kbps). Your download speed is 249 KB/s (0.24 MB/s). Try 9MB test as small tests aren't really that indicative of a sustained transfer speed. Takes a while for things to ramp up Test run on 01/04/2009 @ 08:44 PM Test run on 01/04/2009 @ 08:47 PM Mirror: Adam Internet Data: 9 MB Test Time: 18.16 secs Your line speed is 4.16 Mbps (4163 kbps). Your download speed is 520 KB/s (0.51 MB/s). It's all really slow at the moment. Title: Re: JD Out of action Post by: rob b on April 01, 2009, 08:30:24 PM Data: 9 MB
Test Time: 18.6 secs Your line speed is 4.06 Mbps (4064 kbps). Your download speed is 508 KB/s (0.5 MB/s). using Adam mirror RB Title: Re: JD Out of action Post by: JD on April 01, 2009, 08:45:46 PM Test run on 01/04/2009 @ 09:15 PM
Mirror: Adam Internet Data: 9 MB Test Time: 50.38 secs Your line speed is 1.5 Mbps (1501 kbps). Your download speed is 188 KB/s (0.18 MB/s). Looks like you guys are running about 75% faster than I am. Are you guys on ADSL2? JD Title: Re: JD Out of action Post by: rob b on April 01, 2009, 08:49:18 PM I thought i was on ADSL 2
but hey who knows RB Title: Re: JD Out of action Post by: Craig on April 01, 2009, 10:41:07 PM Yeah but it's bloody slow at the mo.
Check out your performance profile on Adam Member Services for your current up & down speeds: Current Downstream: 7,798 kbps Current Upstream: 430 kbps Current SNR: 15.3 dB Todays Sync Attempts: 1 I usually get 11-13meg not 7.7!
