No advice apart from wash your gear afterwards! Would be a novel entry in the log book, for sure! I would take gear if I was going, why not? Might be a swim to find something deep, but the boaties should know. There is a sailing club which sails in floods, maybe try and contact them?

Hi
I'm going to Lake Eyre in July to see it in flood. I wonder if I should take the dive gear. How many of you guys have Lake Eyre in you log book? There must be at least one deep part as the lowest point is near Halligan Bay; -15m. Any advice appreciated. |

Do any of you esteemed gentlemen (or Paul) have any experience of diving in Mexico? A chance has come up to go in November and I'm starting the hunt for accommodation, dive guides, sites and prices. As I'm only cave rated I'm also thinking of doing full cave over there, mainly just for the chance to do some of the bigger caves and useful to prepare for Adv Cave here next year. Thanks, Steve Steve if you have come here looking for "esteemed gentlemen"....then mate you have come to the wrong place |

Thanks Craig, I'll chase him up then.
Ad - I have thought about just doing the crossover instead of the full adv cave. It's an option & I'll talk to a few instructors beforehand. I've heard positive and negative things about doing it this way. Although part of me is just stubborn & I'd like to say I've passed the full course here without a shortcut. |

Hi Steve,
If you do full cave in the US, then you wont' have to do the full Advance Cave course here in Australia - just the cross over part. (Which I believe still involves some testing, but should avoid most of the double-up) Can't help with the accommodation side of things sorry... I'm yet to be fortunate enough to visit the states myself. |
