UTI or DCI from his aerobatics trying to unkink it?

A wetsuit is not a bad thing Rick, although it does require a good flush afterwards.....

Not quite Harvs - that'd only be an overnight stay.

Rick got a UTI that progressed to blood poisoning from a kinked pee valve hose not letting the wee out & has been in hospital since Tuesday

Gooey wasn't there & there wasn't another GUE trained diver in the immediate vicinity.

When I spoke to him Fri night he was hopeful of being discharged today (sunday)

Rick,

Thanks for sharing your medical issue. When an old time CDAA instructor mentioned to me to be careful of UTI's when using an ext. catheter, I didn't really take him seriously. Although it mentions it in the manual, how many of you flush your Pee valve with disinfectant. I know I NEVER have.

I do however test my pee valve out on the surface, doing a dry land pee.

What type of tubing was on your pee valve ? The thick black stuff (like fuel line hose) or the medical see through with the corrugated bits every 10mm ?

You know if you wanted to not do Tec 2 with me Rick, you could have just said, rather than going to this extreme ! Smiley
