Looking to set up mobile broadband through laptop. Telstra seems to have a couple of options but as per usual the online details are almost indecipherable. Anyone who knows about this stuff, any info will be appreciated. After all I'm just a dumb assed diver Cheesy Cheesy

I do not know much about mobile broadband, but considering it's Telstra two words: 'Slow' and 'Expensive'

I'm on a Telstra 3G broadband connection at the moment. Seems OK but takes a while to connect sometimes.

Not sure on coverage though but should be OK. I was in Esperance a couple of weeks ago & it worked fine there so regional coverage might be alright.

Expensive though. I think the package I'm on is $89 a month & that includes 1 whole gig. From there it's $0.25 per MB, so that extra 100MB just cost $25.

I think I'm on:
Data Pack $89
Monthly access fee $89
Monthly included eligible data allowance 1GB
Excess usage charges 25c (Price is indicated per 1000KB but actual charge is per KB block)
I've got a Telstra Turbo 7 Series wireless card.

I don't really know as I just asked for one & it lobbed by mail from Head Office & I don't see the bill. I was told by IT that it's $89 a month hence my assumption.

speed not too bad...depending on what you are downloading of course! it is Next G network, you would need to talk to them regarding your amount of allowable download = $$$
