What happened to the 'Site access co-ordinator'? That was his excuse for not having insurance?

Would this mean they are not a guide, and RB's are allowed?

 Huh Huh Huh Huh Huh

who mentioned insurance?  The access coordinator does not know what the YBOD's can do and as such he would be foolish to allow you to use it. Australian standards and such. You know he needs to know when they cut the straps from your lif..... Grin Grin Grin Grin

Access co-ordinator VS Dive guide.

Guide, as per Tank Cave needs to be aware of what everybody is diving and how. As per Aussie standards, this means he or she needs to be certified to allow RB use.

Access Co-ordinator arranges access for the divers. If the first person listed on Kilsbys is the access co-ordinator, and they are required to be certified, we are in big trouble.

It is my understanding that this is how the problem of insurance for the dive 'guides' was overcome. They called them access co-ordinators.

Suspect you're correct.

Kilsby's access conditions outline the responsibilities of the Dive Coordinator and specifically state that it is the coordinator is to ensure all access related (ie non-diving) requirements are met.

It is not their responsibility to direct diving activity as it is a non-guided site.
