Ian,
Its been too long since you've dived in seawater and from a boat drifting in the middle of nowhere. There's a SMB at the end of the string, believe me, even though you can't see it. This safety stop is above 6m because my red wetsuit is red, not grey. In case you ask, a wet suit is not a leaking dry suit.
When you come over to the west, I'm more than happy to introduce you to the sea again.

When I showed this to others here, I did not get as favourable or sensible comments as I thought I would. Things like:
- dental floss
- a straw
- a string theory
- a thread
- and something that could be photoshopped out really easily.
