Curious on what people are using for Drysuit undergarments. After having a DR 400g polarfleece, after 6 years or so, numberous washes and time in the drier, it really has lost it's thermal efficiency. When I first started diving it, I was toasty warm with thermals underneath, though now has lost it
We're ordering Weezle Extreme's to use and looking forward to them. Also ordered booties for the undergarment, as the turbo soles on the TLS have no insulation. I had previous order a DUI thinsulate though found the shape of it was very weird, the suit was very stiff and felt very bulky.
Curious to what others are using and the likes / dislikes of the suit. (Polarfleece or lofted material like a sleeping bag )

when you buy a drysuit that is as thin as glad wrap I'm not surprised you need a decent undergarment. JD has a good post regarding this very issue. |

Am getting an Otter Thinsulate 4oz. (also badged as Zeagle). Have tried one on, very comfortable suit with good range of movement.
Don't like the idea of the lofted suit, have heard of problems with air trapping, extra weights required etc.
Mind you anything will be better than my DR 300g toweling piece of C***.

OK I'll spell it out. You incorrectly assumed that because I am a GUE trained diver I must be diving a TLS 350. I suppose I can't blame you for that assumption because everyone knows that after GUE training we all become clones, incapable of independent thought. Hang on, must ckeck with HQ before posting. Test Dove the TLS drysuit today and Weezle Undergarments. A few points:
1. Sleeping bag type booties (same as Weezle Undergarments) over the feet feel as if they slide on the soles of the turbo-soles on the drysuit. Feels like your foot is sliding when you kick.
2. The lofted weezle suits hold a LOT of air, and are tricky to dump. Quite a vertical position is required to get air out during ascent.
3. Very, very warm though ( 30mins in 12 degree water, and it was toasty ! )
4. Did a number of ascents from 5 to 2 m then back down. Worked on amount of gas in wing/drysuit and best combination.
I'm sure that the suit will feel fine with a little more practise and few dives. A lot was learnt in first 15mins of this dive with the Weezle u/g, getting used to dumping it.

IMHO bad choice on both accounts!! but remember it is JMO |
