Too right it would be! Imagine him removing the gear, suddenly finding himself extremely positive, going feet up while desperately trying to hang on to his gear and forcing it upwards and onto his back. Be fuggin funny actually!
Next time you guys do a pool session, give it a shot. This is the problem with having all the weight in the rig. If you have to remove your gear for whatever reason, you are royally screwed. I have gone back to a belt with as much weight as I can get off the rig on it (about 6 pounds), but I dont have a SS backplate, so for you guys it would be hard. In saying this however, with Bernalds new SS box, I dont need to wear any, so I am back to the same problem. Mmmm.........
When you guys work it out, let me know.

Have done it once in Ewens ponds just for fun. Was a bit floaty but not too bad. His technique rolling off to the right looks the way. I took kit off overhead which is a bit disorientating. Much harder than it looks to maintain depth position.

Roll the gear to the side, point valves back towards you, push bottom of tanks through restriction first. Always have alternate reg (long hose) close by to switch to 'Just-in-case' (HINT HINT). suggest coiled up in hand as you push tanks by the valves.

real situation where this is required, is considerably differnt to doing it with a huge amount of space around you.

Ian is exactly right...do not do it that way in your pen course...the moment they see you have lost control of your other reg...bang reg change!...if you haven't got it.....good night charlie
