Workshop topics?

I decided to post in this area because of the 'Useful Information' header. Lets see if I am right!

I had an interesting email from Mr T sent to me today, asking about CDAA workshops. As you all may be aware, there was a sidemount workshop in Melbourne last week, and the question has been proposed as to what would we like covered.
Firstly, I would like a 'How to run a successful workshop' workshop. This should be to ensure all subsequent workshops are to a comparable standard, and it should be a pre-requisite for all people running a workshop have completed this course. This does create a problem however, in nobody will be qualified (by the now imposed 'Workshop standard') to actually run this workshop. How do we overcome this? I suggest the forming of a workshop commitee, who will canvas all members into what constitutes a successful workshop. The commitee co-ordinator will collate all the information, and conduct (to interested individuals and all commitee members) an 'Introduction to how to run a successful workshop' to teach people how to run a workshop about workshops. These workshops will be held in each state, allowing the state workshop representative to become qualified to run workshops, where they will show people what is involved in running a successful workshop. After this, a preliminary qualification will be given, subject to the candidate running a workshop to the acceptable standard.

Secondly, after completeing the 'How to run a successful workshop' workshop, the person involved must submit a workshop topic to the national workshop commitee for authorisation to start collating information to be presented at this workshop. Once permission has been given, the individual can start work on the information to be presented at the workshop. Once all information has been collated and put into a power point presentation (thanks Warren), it is to be submitted to the national workshop commitee for perusal to make sure it meets all relevant standards for workshop information.

Lastly, if the workshop is approved, it must first be workshopped to the National workshop commitee as a workshop. Only after this can it be officially registered as an official workshop.
