I learned this week that the CDAA holds your cert card to ransom until you complete a quality assurance online form thingo.

That wasn't briefed in the Pen course!

I do believe it was briefed. Maybe you guys need to pay a bit more attention instead of slacking off expecting me to drag you through. Cool

More seppo bullshit. Why do this for a pen course? The pen course in run by the CDAA, not an individual instructor, and considering this was run by the ND, is it really needed?

Did you meet the requirements? If so, what is the issue? Can filling in a Q&A tell the person reading it if you were good in the water? NO? Well, fuck it off then!

Jarrod,  By the nature of the questions asked in the QA is seems that the purpose is to ensure that the instructors are providing an adequate course, presented to CDAA standards. As such I don't think its a bad idea to get feedback from the students to make sure standards are kept up.

Yes, and I do not disagree for a run of the mill cave course. This course is run BY the association, not an instructor. An instructor cannot just up and run a pen program, it is scheduled and run by them. Not only that, it was run by the national director!
Why Q&A yourself? I run a course, then send out forms to be sent back to me for processing by me! Point is?

If there is a form for other courses, all well and good, but to hold up your card so Warrick can make sure Warrick did a good job? Anyone?Huh? Huh Huh Huh

Perhaps it's a new thing in light of recent allegations & meant to be a crosscheck of, say, dive times, class session times etc

There is more than one instructor on the course, four actually. The QA gives the opportunity for students to make comment on the individual performance of instructors. Surely ,in the interests of maintaining a high standard of teaching, this feedback is essential.
