Just back from a great few days diving down the Mount. A friend from Switzerland, Daniel was over for some diving and touring Australia. With an SVP organised he was keen to do some cave rated sites. He is CMAS cave 2 rated and is a very proficent diver.

We dived
Pics
Kilsbys
Allendale
Pines
Fossils
One Tree
Engelbrechts East
Ewens Ponds
over a four day period. He loved the caves and has been posting on his web log regularly with many of his European cave diving friends keen to come over for a look.

He also showed me some footage of cave diving in France with one cave in particular, I think called "Ressel", looking spectacular.

Around his home in the town of Uster are many deep, clear lakes with trimix readily available so a trip to Europe might need to be organised one day.

to what depth rick

Certified to 57m, capable to deeper if required.

Most of the diving in a couple of European areas I am looking at are in the 60m range so no problem there.

By all accounts depth restrictions on deep lake sites/wreck sites are a bit more liberally interpreted than here.

Seems that there is more onus on the individual doing the dive, as in, don't complain afterwards if you get into trouble doing dives you are not capable of.

That's ok with me.

Cheers

It's true, rick!

Blame the ones going beyond their limits, not the community itself.

RN, Have you got a T1+ upgrade ? I think you need to check the back of your T1 card for your certification depth.
